Gamblers, Punters ??

Is anyone fond of a gamble or a punt ????
Of a more consistent kind than the once a year melb cup kind i mean.......
Be it races, sports, casino, poker games etc....
Be it purely for fun...or perhaps with a little winning intent??

I would be prepared to wager [slight pun intended] that the average Somer Soft forum poster would be a non gambler.

The reason I say this is that most here probably have too many things to do with cash rather than wasting it. That's my thoughts anyway.

No, I don't gamble. In saying I don't gamble, I'm a grain grower. That's the biggest gamble I can think of. I can make or loose a hundred grand on one fall of rain. Also love shares, property, blah blah blah,......... Perhaps I don't need to gamble, get enough buzz doing what I do now.

Or, maybe I'm the biggest gambler around.

See ya's.

For the past several years I have gone halves with an old neighbour and we buy a lotto entry. It costs me $3.60 per week which is the cost of a good coffee.

To be perfectly honest, I look at it as a donation to the Commonwealth coffers and I would happily stop, but she is 86 and enjoys the flutter. Also, because she has a head for numbers, if we did stop it, she would know if our numbers DID come up.

Another neighbour of ours stopped paying into a lotto syndicate when she left work after having children and her workmakes all won a substantial amount (maybe $10K from memory) so I am a bit wary of stopping.

When she is no longer interested or capable of putting our entry in I will happily stop because I have no idea what the numbers are. Having said all that, we have had enough small wins over the past three months to pay for my entries until June, so I am slightly ahead this year anyway.
