Game of Thrones

Yes it's amazing ... My challenge is finding time to watch it when the kids aren't around, not exactly family viewing! Might have to read the books too.

Yes, i've watched the first 2 seasons. Hanging out for the 3rd.

Shane: It's a fantasy fiction. It's really quite good if you're into that genre.

I've gotthe DVDs forthe first season but haven't watched. And the books on Kindle but haven't read.

Perhaps when the Subway finally transfers I'll have time.

I've heard a lot about it. is it on TV? fox? a quick google says its the most pirated tv show. must be addictive. can we watch it legit in aus?

Have seen Season 1 & 2, need to watch 3

I mainly get to watch programs when I'm working away from home, though on this occasion I was crook and had been lent the series so watched 1 after the other at odd hrs (no Ad's)

"Missing" was another good series

The missus saw a bit and described it as soft porn and violence..wasn't interested

Has anybody seen Game of Thrones? I am so totally addicted and it's interfering with my normal life.

It is fabulous: think West Wing meets Lord of the Rings, without the elves and drawfs. My wife loves the relationships and political intrigue. The acting and characters in it are awesome, as is the production and cinematography. I have the first season on bluray and it's stunning.

Spoiler Alert!------
It's just a shame that actor Sean Bean always seems to die at the end of the first series he stars in.
End spoiler--------

There is a board game based on the series: it's complicated and takes a long time to master and play.

Haven't watched it yet, but read all the current books in very quick succession. Hoping to get time to watch it when I do my next block of travelling (should be a good way to pass flight time)

Yeah I got series 1 two weeks ago. Put one on at 10pm and didn't get to bed until2.20am (6.30 am work start) so I know what you mean.

Love the dwarf/midget/height challenged character. Also quite partial to the Dragon blood girl who keeps taking her kit off.

It's a hectic series..... My partner has just started getting into it and I have watched 6 or so episodes. They certainly don't hold back on many levels.

LOL I am definitely hooked. Already finished it.

Sis introduced me to it, and since then I have passed the baton on to other friends. One who watched both seasons in one sitting. Poor guy, was in a daze the next day.

Have watched 1st season; have the 2nd ready to go...

LOVE it! Similar, in my view, to Rome and Spartacus, both of which also have a lot of violence and nudity. ;)

I saw a sign in a pub that had the word "weeknights" in large letters. I initially read it as "wee knights" and thought immediately of The Imp... that character, and the actor that plays him, are world class.

I too watched series 1 in one sitting all but for a 2 hr nap and toilet break.
Series 2 the same and now waiting for series 3.

Love the whole 'old clans', history, battles for territory and thrones, marrying for power etc. Not exactly old England or any other particular culture but there's hints of all of them there. Then throw in some fantasy for good measure and Wow! what a story; what a series.

Boardwalk Empire also good (prohibition, gangster etc).

An older series, but a must see is The Wire. 5 series and each series deals with a different aspect of crime in Boston, (drugs, schools, the wharves, the media, politics not necessarily in that order.) The show is all about wire tapping, politics, red tape, budget cuts. Brilliant acting and story telling.

no where near as good as Breaking Bad

I hear that! BB is the best show ever made, hands down. I love how things will slow down for a little while, then all of a sudden BLAM! and I'm thinking 'WHAT WAS THAT.' I tried watching GoT, but was struggling to stay awake, it was so boring. Watched 3 episodes, that was it.

Been watching Boss and keen as mustard for the new season of Homeland, too. Oh and I've been watching Rake as well, love it.

Olly, The Wire (which is also awesome, I've watched it all the way through 4 times and thinking about doing it again!) is set in Baltimore.
