Hi ho, Hi ho, It's back to Rudd we go...

  • No- but someone else will

    Votes: 23 38.3%

  • Poll closed .
I must apologise, I just can't help myself!

I predicted Rudd would come back, he is the only MP Politician with enough arrogance and you know what, to do it!

What do you think guys? It seems Rudd11 has been on the phone racking up his International phone bill, trying to get votes.

I think he could possibly turn the polls for Labor, or at least change their downward spiral before the next election.

I don't want to vote for any of them.

All morally reprehensible creatures.

Every stripe, every brand. All the same.

Several of the independants have made it clear that they'll no longer give their support if there's a leadership change. Labour will be very reluctant to change leadership at this point.

I bet Tony Abbott is not the opposition PM at the next election. He will self self destruct before then and the party with him.

It would be the icing on the cake! The Great Global Joke!

Regards JO

It's only rusted on, biased die hard liberals that trot out that tired old cliche.

In the developed world he is actually very well respected and the response to the first GFC is largely seen as positive.

But, of course, that doesn't fit the narrative of labor = OMG UNION GREENY SOCIALISTS!!!!11111!!!!!!!! so it isn't really raised.

I can feel a rant coming on. Maybe it will be against labor, maybe liberal. The best thing about being disdainful towards both sides is you can actually see through the bull from both parties.

I wouldn't be surprised if Labor called an election to try and get the millstone off from around their necks - put Rudd back in to lead as he is their best visual chance - was wiped out - Abbott leads Liberals to landslide when and then he's almost immediately ousted by the likes of Turnbull

Maybe that's just wishful thinking

A little part of me wonders if Abott and the Libs decided to throw the towel in when negotiating with the independants after the last election.

Regardless of actual compentancy level, the current government has an extremely tough job because they have to keep appeasing the greens and independants. The Liberals are in a far better position because they can use the current term to completely destroy public confidence in Labour.

I've met a few ministers and senior people from both sides over the years. I knew Ben Hubbard (Gillard chief of staff) at Uni. I've found they generally want to do the right thing, even if others don't agree with them. The problem is they have to make compromises to get some things through at the expense of others. The current government simply has to make too many compromises to be effective.

What the current government should have done is just try to keep the status quo and not do anything interesting. Of course neither the Greens or the independants would let them get away with that.

We will have another election eventually, at which point the Liberal party is more likely to win by a very clear majority. A lot of the problems they'll have they'll then be able to blame the 'irrisponsible previous Gillard government' which will set them up for a strong second term as well.

Sometimes not winning is the better long term choice.

If Rudd does replace Julia, the Libs should worry. He would come across as sane, normal and lucid compared to Abbots lunacy, hysteria and negativity. Not to mention constant duplicity.

The electorate has a very short memory.

btw; I've been overseas so havnt caught all the fun but i did see him back flip on the pairs thing when he realised the electorate thought very negatively about him not allowing Thomson a pair. Such integrity the guy has.

That would be about right, but there is even more to it.

The Libs and Labs are comfortable with each other - they know the rules - but neither like third parties. This was shown by the bipartisan approach they had to destroying Hansen, not merely beating her.

The Libs are on track to deal the greens a body blow by giving them a whiff of power and allowing the electorate to see the REAL greens. This is taking time but is progressing.

So O'Connor finally sets in stone how desperate and brain dead GreenLabor are, in saying the two boats caught heading for Australia today are the Coalition's fault.

My goodness, how stupid GreenLabor think the electorate is...
