I Live in SOuth Freo.......I like it because of easy access to facilities and beach, a community that is eclectic and out and about on the streets. There is a great mix of old and new houses, giving the place character. I only go to main freo for medical appts now, but i used to like the markets, galleries etc. Not everyone is happy with the plans of the current council and we are in a state of limbo with Myer closing and new projects not started.Any thoughts on why Freo is so pricy?
It's nice and all but the people that live there!
I was there yesterday waiting for Coles to open and the congregation out the front had to be seen to be believed
We waited across the road

Well I have actually been to Freo a couple of times before, mainly to have a beer at creatures and hadn't noticed too many characters.
It did take me by surprise though
Also went and had a look at the gaol. Can't believe that closed in 91. It's Stone Age stuff Limestone Age
Also had the pleasure of staying in midlands caravan park... Like Middle Earth
Saw a massive estate called Ellenbrook in the middle of nowhere! It's like Los Vegas, surrounded by...Actually it's the Gateway to the Swan Valley
Had a swim at Scarboro (what's with the local spelling?)It was named after the English beach resort Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The term borough designates a self-governing township
Lunch at Hillarys with the pommie tourists They are newly arrived locals
The Swan Valley is Western Australia's oldest and most visited wine growing region.
It is a valley laced with ribbons of vineyards and is home to over 150 places to wine and dine - including award-winning wineries and restaurants, microbreweries and distilleries.
It is also home to roadside stalls selling fresh local produce, historical architecture, art and craft galleries and studios.
