Interestingly there are only 6 units coming up as for rent on magnetic island on Realestate.com.au

btw I'm not seriously suggesting Magnetic Island as a good place to invest in . As stated I know very little about it . I do remember seeing a booth selling something similar to those linked above at the Sydney Boat show about three years ago . I think they were selling for more than 400 K ....
My parents ( aged 87 & 90 ) went there for a holiday about 2 years ago and they said it was very quiet ....

Christies Beach area in SA...

Margaret Lomas usually bangs on about their 'ugly cousin' Christie Downs, Hackem West etc.

1 Hour from town, duplication of express way...

Agree with Brady, Christies Beach, however, buy something with development potential.

Seacliff and Seacliff Park (cheaper) are around 12 km from CBD, some good opportunities within 1-1.5km to a pretty beach and good train link to CBD (soon to be electrified = faster).

Have you considered North Queensland? Not capital city style, but still a lot going for it. In terms of price, I guess it depends what you consider to be cheap. If you want riverside, you might consider Riverside Gardens (Townsville)? If you want beachside, you would probably be spoilt for choice. You just need to factor in flood zones, insurance premiums etc.
I guess it depends on why you want a waterfront property.

Gday all...

I am from small but very expensive water front suburb in WA. I would like to get in to my second investment property during super low interest rate. But I WA is so expensive. As rates go down, prices going over the roof...

If any of the property GURUs can share with your thoughts about cheap suburbs in SA or VIC. I like NT but can not afford to pay too much....

Ok, Preferably would like a to buy super cheap and stick into few years before sale. Either close to beach or river would be ideal..( ha ha I know , there are no cheap suburbs close to beach.... But I mean close) .

After 3 weeks, i get 2 weeks off from work and may able to travel and check out... Your suggestions and help appreciated...

cheers..
