India in dire straights again!

Just hope The new captain keeps his foot on Indias neck and continues to squeeze until stumps on day 5. Not before.

who's watching the cricket?? :D:D

Following on the internet.

It seems both that (a) the Indians are bowling fruit, and (b) that the pitch is "a road" (ie. flat and lifeless).

Rogers looking very good for a ton in which will be (by his own prediction) his last home test.

Watching on TV now :p

Pitch IS a road
Bowling... well, mediocre to say the least

Kohli chop and change toooo much I reckon

Yeah, WTH was that about last time? OK, we were unlikely to win, but there was a possibility of us getting all the wickets, even if no chance of India getting all the runs. Why concede?

Yeah he copped some flack for that here and there.
Put it down to inexperience I guess?

Ponting wouldnt have done it thats for sure.

Punish them, they'd do it to us!

That may be so (about the declaration last test), but with regards to calling it a draw by mutual agreement, it does bear remembering that -

- it was a "nice" way to end a test that featured some pretty heated exchanges between the two sides.

and

- in the powerplay that is the ICC - the BCCI is the massive elephant in the room. We're just monkeys in comparison.

A bit more context around the purple patch that Smith finds himself in.

This is the list of players with 100's in 4 or more consecutive tests....

Given recent form, Smith would have to be odds on to score the 18 more runs he needs this innings to join this list (he has scored 100's in the 3 tests prior to this).

And he scored a 97 in the test proceeding this run of 100's.

He has 50's now in each of the last 7 tests he has played (the record there is 12 tests by AB de Villiers).

Yeah, he's on fire.

Looks so relaxed when playing a shot but so fidgety around the crease.

Already a great player, who knows to what heights he will rise, but it will be higher than now thats for sure.

Good on him!

I bet Warner will never score a double ton.
Then again, Im setting high expectations.

Totally agree.

Though considering his recent form is about as good as it gets (granted he hasn't yet started churning out the double tons like Pup did there for a while, or Lara did in his day) - I personally wouldn't want to put much pressure or expectation on him doing even more.

Eventually we will play Bangladesh or Zimbabwe.

If so, he will be 400* by tea on Day 1 if he can stay in.

I did think of those countries, but seriously, do they count?

Much rather see him double tonning England, NZ, Sth Africa, India, West Indies, or Pakistan.

IMO.

He's going great though, good on him too!
