Still a bit slow for me and I'm now at work in melb CBD with connection speed of 100mbs. SS is the only thing lagging for me.
It's a little scary that your network connection from the Sunshine Coast goes Brisbane - Sydney - Melbourne - Adelaide - Perth - Japan.
Surprised it doesn't stop in Canberra, Hobart and Darwin too!
Ping times are a bit slow too - over 400ms to the final hop ... consequence of such a circuitous route I guess
I bet you get good ping times to the west coast of the US though ... you would probably have preferred I locate the servers in California.

I am not noticing Somersoft being any slower than ususal though. By the way i use a lowly dodo wireless dongle here at the office and optus dsl2 at home. Couldn't work out how to do a traceroute on the ipad for you

For those still finding the forums slow, can you try visiting http://www.metro.tokyo.jp/ENGLISH/ and let me know what the speed is like for you?
Seems that the network path I take to get to this site is pretty much the same as to somersoft.com until we get to Tokyo ... so if you are experiencing network congestion between here and Japan, I would expect that Japanese site to be slow for you too.

Even so, your ping times to Sydney are still abysmally slow and inconsistent. I'm getting 130ms pings to Japan on Internode's network and you can't even get consistent pings that quick to Sydney!
I would be expecting sub-50ms pings to Sydney really.
But then, I guess that's why I pay more for my internet - Internode are a premium provider with much higher prices compared to Dodo (not that I've compared recently - I'm just assuming).

I think your traceroute program is substituting the final result, when it shouldn't.
The reverse DNS lookup for 106.187.43.73 should give you prod1.hampelgroup.net, which is the name of the server.
It certainly should not give you www.somersoft.com when you are doing a traceroute for somersoft.com (without the www) - that is an assumption being made by the traceroute program or service you've used.

Transiting via Singapore - not unusual ... although for some reason you are being routed through Melbourne to get there, which seems a bit inefficient.
Not sure if those missing hops are a sign of network congestion, or if Optus are hiding (dropping ICMP packets) on some of their internal network.
Ironically, I get routed to 203.208.190.85 (Singapore) via Japan on Internode's network
I'm seeing 310ms+ ping times when I get to Singapore too, so it's definitely the slow way around.

Does this site seem more responsive to you than Somersoft does?
I'm wondering whether it is the transit via Singapore which is slowing people down?
The site isn't as quick for me as Somersoft is - but then, the site isn't in Tokyo either - it is in Fukuoka, which would explain the slower ping times I get to there compared to Tokyo.
