Just so you know, I'm pretty close to the centre politically. I just voted Liberal in a state election and have voted Labor in the last election. So I'm not a socialist, and I don't think anyone hanging out on a property investment forum is a real socialist either.
Oh ok....because Dan says so, Somersoft only has pretend socialists....the type that drink chardonnay and lattes, drive Volvos, and try to minimize their tax....then pressure everyone else to accept higher tax rates.
To call Janet Albrechtson a 'free market advocate', is underplaying her ultra conservative views, just a bit, don't you think?
Janet might come across ultra conservative to some. To the rest of us she stands up for the sociopolitical values that gives a free market the greatest chance of success, so as to provide the socialists amongst us with bread, milk, water, shelter, and transport and utlities (the stuff Rudd is selling off to the Canadians), at the most efficient cost. In fact, Janet shares a lot with Gandhi's sociopolitical views.
Personally, I think the 'protest' was not because of her 'free market views', but because the appointment was a blatantly political one.
You mean it was a political appointment the ABC's entrenched left weren't happy with. You are not familiar with Ramona Koval's political views are you Dan. Nor David Marr's, who was her next most vocal critic. And nothing political about their presence at the ABC is there Dan.
Can you not see that point, or are you just ignoring it?
