I am trying to get the formula right in column Time Taken.

I found out you can put the actual time in with Ctrl Shift : and that is great but I want to do a formula that lets me know how many mins eg the Receipting line shouls be 1 minute and the Answer email from Smith should be 5 minutes but as you can see it comes up with this funny time.

Can anyone help :confused:

Sorry just realised it came up weird.

I have attached the excel spreadsheet!!

Thankyou!

add x24x60 to the (a-b) formula then format it for numbers instead of time.

i.e. =(D4-C4)*24*60

and format the cell as a number.

Alexlee that worked perfectly thankyou so much. I am so glad you are back with us. Yes I know you have been back for ages but I am still glad!!:):):)

There is an excellent excel forum would you believe and people get back to you for free. I forget its name but just Google excel forum if you have any further trouble.

Thanks CharlieandKath and Wobblycart. I am amazed at people skills with Excel formulas. I have done courses but still get very confused with anything other than the fairly basic stuff
