UNTOLD: The Strangest Secret

It's worth having a browse of this SITE as well; and where the review of the Secret came from, its well worth a browse as its written in an easy to follow style.

Let me know what you think

well, the story is that we were looking for a knock down near the beach and cbd of newcastle to rebuild a new ppor (currently we're about 1/2 hr from both).

we looked at an ideal property and i made an offer thru r/est agent. i drew some sketch plans up of our dream home to ensure it would fit, and also has a perfect spot for parking the boat - hard to get in this area.

anyhow, offer was rejected so i made a higher offer. never heard anything back so a week later i was peering over the fence at the property to see the lay of the trees etc - as one does when one is looking to buy - and the owner came out. we got talking and it turns out they had never received an offer!!

as the house had been on the market for 3 months with no offers they decided to refinance, take it off the market and stay. i gave them our number in case they changed their mind and we'd put the property in hubby's name as he had no dealing with the property or agent first time around - which will remove the obligation of paying commission. that was around a month ago. since then we found another block, i didn't feel it was as good as the first but would still met our needs. the second block is bigger but another 2 blocks back from the beach and 1/2 km further for the big kids to walk to school/bus/friends.

while watching the first part of the movie i started thinking about this first block - and within hours the owner called to ask if we were still interested, superb conditions (extended settlement to sell our own ppor and for plans to go thru council) and what's more, he dropped his price $35k from his initial asking price!! :D remember this is been a month since i spoke to them ... the timing was just to spooky.

So lizzie did you put an offer on the property?
Did you bargain them down even further?
Did you say oh well we will think about it?
Put it out there Girl [hope you have enough left over to buy those you bute razors on the chrissy list:D ]
cheers yadreamin

we talked about bad r/est agents (as no offers were put thru to vendor) and i asked what the vendor actually needed in dollars and he muttered about a price then suddenly dropped it right down. we talked about settlement periods so that i could assure vendor that we were willing to compromise to suit them to find somewhere else to live with extended settlement (which acutally suits us even better, but wasn't telling vendor that).

we chatted for a while and then i said that hubby was away on business (which he was) and that i needed to talk to him first but would let them know our decision on monday. but for it to all happen only hours after i put it out to the universe .... go "the secret"!!

to top it off, i rang the r/est for the second block to find out that the vendors have decided to go to auction and that they will have an unrealistic reserve and 35 day settlement made the choice very easy.

hubby wants to now know if we can buy both and develop one of them with townhouses, which we can if everything else - like the sale of our current ppor - falls into place.

looks like i'll have to read parts 2-3 and put some more vibes out there for the ppor sale!! :)

pretty heady stuff - although i have always been a great believer in the universe providing what is truely desired for the right reasons.

Great Movie

Like wishing or praying for something and it comes through/true by positive thought (ask and it is given)

Reminds me of a story when my wife received a Birthday present to go to a REIKI Session which she said was great.

Upon leaving the woman gave her a choice of choosing a card from a face down stack, the one she chose was "Financial Blessings come to me I happily accept them", this was placed on the fridge where it was visible every day and money issues and the new baby as well as plans for the future were talked about regularly.

Three Months later she had a win of sorts and received $25,000.00 and got to do what she wanted to as well (a Double Bonus).

Upon reflection the card came true..

Dear All,

1. I wonder if KARMA has a place with respect to the operation of the Laws of Attraction?

2. Care to share your own experiences and views on this topic.

3. Thank you.

Based on Lizzies Post I put something out there on Friday along the lines of "The Millionaire Challenge" and got a $500 Bonus at work Monday (Okay, not a Month either but made me feel good nonetheless).

Hmm....Karma, Fate, Joss as well who knows :)

what i gathered from the movie was that there was no time expectation - the universe has no concept of size or time, so the size of your wish doesn't matter to the universe and it will be delivered in a timely manner when you are ready to receive ... i think i got that right.

ah well - an excuse to watch it again next week.

well done redwing.
Maybe the SS forum members have a very special karma about them.:)
lizzie, your right size and time does not matter, to the universe that is. :D
Get It Out There

I watched the movie (and thanks for posting it).

Interestingly Peter Spann writes about this concept in his book (the first one). Equally so have many others, in particular Napoleon Hill, Charles Haamel, Clement Stone.

I agree with the "if you really desire a specific outcome (and take congruent action) so you will achieve" concept (as oppose to a more passive inert approach of "think it and it will happen").

However I have difficulty in relating it to some things - does a person who is born with a disability have him/ herself to blame, or if a person dies from an illness is it because he/she did not fully commit to thinking about getting better.

Overall, I agree that it is better to live optimistically than pessimistically, but can it attract money, health ??

Notwithstanding the above, and being an optimist, I have now bought my Lotto ticket. (Thinks hard - $1m, $1m, $1m).

Good luck (and thanks again for the movie).

Dear Tonyc00,

1. My own personal understanding is that the Laws of Attraction works together with the concept of KARMA. When we are born wth good KARMA, we will naturally attract the monies as the Universe has deemed us to be "worthy" and "deserving" of receiving its monies.

2. Secondly, we need to ask "selflessly" ( not "selfishly") for the monies from the Universe i.e the monies given by the Universe, is meant to be circulated to do good deeds and to build a better world for all to live. It is not meant to be hoarded selfishly for one's personal use or/and gratify one's greed/human desire, such as, trying to strike a lottery so that one does not have to work at all and afford to be lazy for the rest of his/her life.

3. Having said this, we do observe that some people, though with selfish intentions, will still strike lottery prizes, from time to time.

4. However, we will need to be extra careful in interpreting such cases and coming to a proper conclusion because of possible KARMA boomerang that one can and eventually will be re-born very poor in the next life as one could in fact, be actually and unknowingly "borrowing" and consuming all the good KARMA in advance during the present earthly life instead of awaiting for the Universe's blessings to come during the next life.

5. Examples of such kind of people would be those who have actually sold their souls to the devil, in return for monies to satisfy their own materialism and greed.

6. An interesting book to read would be Mary T Browne (2002) :"The Power of KARMA:- How to Understand Your Past and Shape Your Future".

7. Mary Browne, the author, claimed herself to be gifted with some psyhic abilities to read the Akashic records and able to "see"/know a person's present life destiny, to a certain extent.

8. For your kind update, please.

9. Thank you.

i tried that tony - but went the $5mil (why sell yourself short). unfortunately it didn't work so i obviously wasn't "putting" it out to the universe hard enough. i need to dig out a $5mil monopoly money bill and pin it behind my lottery ticket - maybe that'll work.

actually - i need to take the word "maybe" out of the vocabulary. it "will" work.

five million, five million - picture it in my bank account - five million :D

Thanks Ken for your erudite and considered comments.

I will further my understanding on the topic and your comments by reading the book mentioned by you.

Hopefully I can then understand why people who deal in (hard) drugs or (child) pornography can benefit financially, and yet I would not consider such individuals as being "worthy" or "deserving" of receiving monies.

Such individuals, imho, would not have the appropriate KARMA in that his/ her actions are quite selfish, and not selfless.

Conversely a Mother Teresa could be considered as selfless and possessing (one would imagine) good KARMA and yet she presumably was not considered (by the cosmos) as being "worthy" or "deserving" of receiving monies.

Equally the concept of the "karma boomerang" sounds cruel if one were to assume that people born with cerebral palsy or a similar disability, or someone developing MS or a similar illness, had somehow inherited the condition because of bad KARMA in a previous life.

However, notwithstanding my scepticism, I do believe that there is some form of energy which we cannot yet explain. In that regard I support the Templeton Foundation (re John Templeton) for their funding of research in this matter.

Lizzie, thanks for the encouragement - incantation now begins - "$7m, $7m,
$7m", albeit remember that the quote by Carnegie "the man who dies thus rich dies disgraced" was intended to be genderless.

Best wishes to all.

Tony

Dear Tonyc00,

1. Personally, I think you are too focussed on the $$ aspects of wealth/riches. There is another aspect of wealth i.e spiritual richness/wealth

2. If you speak to those drug pushers who made their monies trafficking drugs to hurt others, you will find that $$monies matters most of them.

3. Though they are $$ rich, yet they felt "empty" and " joyless" in their lives despite seemingly the y are much able to afford the many life comforts and materials things for themselves...Why? Because they fail to realise that they have allowed themselves to be "enslaved" to their own human desire/greed, which isd limitless and need to be continually satisfied.

4. Personally, I doubt they have the inner peace of heart to be enjoy their $$, as they have to be always on guard against the police and the laws/drug enforcement agencies, to freely and openly enjoy their $$.

5. Eventually, many of them die miserably, in poor spirit and poor health or a sudden painful death, when they continue to fail to repent and realise the wrong KARMA which they are creating for themselves in their next lives.

6. Have you ever heard about a "drug lord/pusher" who is well respected by all and deemed to be a great person?

7. ... Personally, I have not.... Drug lords like Khun Sa is well-known for his notoriety and ruthlessness, and not for his greatness as a person.

8. On the other hand, though Mother Theresa did not personally own much $$ in her own name, yet she was able to "attract" the big monies from all around the world to continously support her in her ministry work in caring for the poor and desitute in India.

9. Though without much $$ to her name, Mother Theresa was deemed to be a much blessed lady, who is worthy to be christened as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church.

10, Although she is no longer physically exist in this earthly world, Mother Theresa has left behind a beautiful legacy and a good name for herself:- her spirit of love, of caring for the poor and destitutes has continued to persist long after she has left the human world.

11. Future generations of people will continue to remember her and her work. They will always remember her for her great love and sacrifice in serving the poor.

12. Though dead, her spirit is fully alive and has continued to inspire many people in this present world. If this is not richness, then what do you call it then?

13. For your kind update and further comment/discussion, please.

14. Thank you.

Hi Tony

This quote below is pretty deep (to me at least...) and taken from the web and is one persons view only, it may help answer some of your questions and give some insight into The Secret;

Kenneths answer was great as welland certainly food for thought for me.

Quote:
The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about. Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest. But the Law of Attraction gives rise to some tough questions that don’t seem to have good answers. I would say, however, that these problems aren’t caused by the Law of Attraction itself but rather by the Law of Attraction as applied to objective reality.

Here are some of those problematic questions (all are generalizations of ones I received via email):

What happens when people put out conflicting intentions, like two people intending to get the same promotion when only one position is available?

Do children, babies, and/or animals put out intentions?

If a child is abused, does that mean the child intended it in some way?

If I intend for my relationship to improve, but my spouse doesn’t seem to care, what will happen?

These questions seem to weaken the plausibility of the Law of Attraction. Sometimes people answer them by going pretty far out. For example, it’s been said by LoA'ers that a young child experiences abuse because s/he intended it or earned it during a past life. Well, sure… we can explain just about anything if we bring past lives into the equation, but IMO that’s a cop-out. On the other hand, objective reality without the Law of Attraction doesn’t provide satisfactory answers either — supposedly some kids are just born unlucky. That’s a cop-out too.

I’ve never been satisfied by others’ answers to these questions, and they’re pretty important questions if the Law of Attraction is to be believed. Some books hint at the solution but never really nail it. That nail, however, can be found in the concept of subjective reality.

Subjective reality is a belief system in which;
(1) there is only one consciousness,
(2) you are that singular consciousness, and
(3) everything and everyone in your reality is a projection of your thoughts.

You may not see it yet, but subjective reality neatly answers all these tricky Law of Attraction questions. Let me ’splain….

In subjective reality there’s only one consciousness, and it’s yours. Consequently, there’s only one source of intentions in your universe — YOU. While you may observe lots of walking, talking bodies in your reality, they all exist inside your consciousness. You know this is how your dreams work, but you haven’t yet realized your waking reality is just another type of dream. It only seems solid because you believe (intend) it is.

Since none of the other characters you encounter are conscious in a way that’s separate from you, nobody else can have intentions. The only intentions are yours. You’re the only thinker in this universe.

It’s important to correctly define the YOU in subjective reality. YOU are not your physical body. This is not the egoic you at all. I’m not suggesting you’re a conscious body walking around in a world full of unconscious automatons. That would be a total misunderstanding of subjective reality. The correct viewpoint is that you’re the single consciousness in which this entire reality takes place.

Imagine you’re having a dream. In that dream what exactly are YOU? Are YOU the physical dream character you identify with? No, of course not — that’s just your dream avatar. YOU are the dreamer. The entire dream occurs within your consciousness. All dream characters are projections of your dream thoughts, including your avatar. In fact, if you learn lucid dreaming, you can even switch avatars in your dream by possessing another character. In a lucid dream, you can do anything you believe you can.

Physical reality works the same way. This is a denser universe than what you experience in your sleeping dreams, so changes occur a bit more gradually here. But this reality still conforms to your thoughts just like a sleeping dream. YOU are the dreamer in which all of this is taking place.

The idea that other people have intentions is an illusion because other people are just projections. Of course, if you strongly believe other people have intentions, then that’s the dream you’ll create for yourself. But ultimately it’s still an illusion.

Here’s how subjective reality answers these challenging Law of Attraction questions:

What happens when people put out conflicting intentions, like two people intending to get the same promotion when only one position is available?

Since you’re the only intender, this is entirely an internal conflict — within YOU. You’re holding the thought (the intention) for both people to want the same position. But you’re also thinking (intending) that only one can get it. So you’re intending competition. This whole situation is your creation. You believe in competition, so that’s what you manifest. Maybe you have some beliefs (thoughts and intentions) about who will get the promotion, in which case your expectations will manifest. But you may have a higher order belief that life is random, unfair, uncertain, etc., so in that case you may manifest a surprise because that’s what you’re intending.

Being the only intender in your reality places a huge responsibility on your shoulders. You can give up control of your reality by thinking (intending) randomness and uncertainty, but you can never give up responsibility. You’re the sole creator in this universe. If you think about war, poverty, disease, etc., that’s exactly what you’ll manifest. If you think about peace, love, and joy, you’ll manifest that too. Your reality is exactly what you think it is. Whenever you think about anything, you summon its manifestation.

Do children, babies, and/or animals put out intentions?

No. Your own body doesn’t even put out intentions — only your consciousness does. You’re the only one who has intentions, so what takes precedence is what YOU intend for the children, babies, and animals in your reality. Every thought is an intention, so however you think about the other beings in your reality is what you’ll eventually manifest for them. Keep in mind that beliefs are hierarchical, so if you have a high order belief that reality is random and unpredictable and out of your control, then that intention will trump other intentions of which you’re less certain. It’s your entire collection of thoughts that dictates how your reality manifests.

If a child is abused, does that mean the child intended it in some way?

No. It means YOU intended it. You intend child abuse to manifest simply by thinking about it. The more you think about child abuse (or any other subject), the more you’ll see it expand in your reality. Whatever you think about expands, and not just in the narrow space of your avatar but in all of physical reality.

If I intend for my relationship to improve, but my spouse doesn’t seem to care, what will happen?

This is another example of intending conflict. You’re projecting one intention for your avatar and one for your spouse, so the actual unified intention is that of conflict. Hence the result you experience, subject to the influence of your higher order beliefs, will be to experience conflict with your spouse. If your thoughts are conflicted, your reality is conflicted.

This is why assuming responsibility for your thoughts is so important. If you want to see peace in the world, then intend peace for EVERYTHING in your reality. If you want to see abundance in the world, then intend it for EVERYONE. If you want to enjoy loving relationships, then intend loving relationships for ALL. If you intend these only for your own avatar but not for others, then you’re intending conflict, division, and separation; consequently, that’s what you’ll experience.

If you stop thinking about something entirely, does that mean it disappears? Yes, technically it does. But in practice it’s next to impossible to uncreate what you’ve already manifested. You’ll continue creating the same problems just by noticing them. But when you assume 100% responsibility for everything you’re experiencing in your reality right now — absolutely everything — then you assume the power to alter your reality by rechanneling your thoughts.

This entire reality is your creation. Feel good about that. Feel grateful for the richness of your world. And then begin creating the reality you truly want by making decisions and holding intentions. Think about what you desire, and withdraw your thoughts from what you don’t want. The most natural, easiest way to do this is to pay attention to your emotions. Thinking about your desires feels good, and thinking about what you don’t want makes you feel bad. When you notice yourself feeling bad, you’ve caught yourself thinking about something you don’t want. Turn your focus back towards what you do want, and your emotional state will improve rapidly. As you do this repeatedly, you’ll begin to see your physical reality shift too, first in subtle ways and then in bigger leaps.

I too am just a manifestation of your consciousness. I play the role you expect me to play. If you expect me to be a helpful guide, I will be. If you expect me to be profound and insightful, I will be. If you expect me to be confused or deluded, I will be. But of course there’s no distinct ME that is separate from YOU. I’m just one of your many creations. I am what you intend me to be. But deep down you already knew that, didn’t you?

DONT ask me to explain the above, I'm still trying to grasp it

Dear Redwing,

1. On the basis of the subjective reality concept of human consciousness, it has been further suggested that what we are actually experiencing outside us in the real world i.e our external environment is a true/exact reflection of our own inner state of mind.

2. This is "deep" and "highly profound"... For the last 6 months, on and off, I have been thinking about this subject as I am still tryling to learn more about it so as to truly understand its insights and its direct application into my own life.

3. For your kind update and further comments/discussion, please.

4. Thank you.

Cheers,
Kenneth KOh
